From 1990, residents of Essex started to come together to investigate their shared interest in local crop circles. Ron West (chairman of Essex UFO Research Group) produced their first publication in September 1990 (see below) before CCCS Essex was formed in the summer of 1991. Their inaugural meeting was chaired by Ralph Noyes (“from 1969 to 1972 Noyes was in charge of the government’s ‘Defence Secretariat 8’, part of whose remit was to investigate claims of UFO sightings” [psi encyclopaedia]).
CCCS Essex produced a number of publications starting with Crop Circle Studies from 1991 to 1994 (compiled by Anthea Holland) before Peter Henden took over as Branch Convenor. He replaced the publication with the Bulletin which ran for 25 issues from 1995 to 2001. Alongside this Peter produced Notices for The Group Anomalous Phenomena.
