The Circular Review was initially the journal for CCCS East Midlands but, under the editorship of Karen Douglas, soon spread its wings to cover CCCS Yorkshire and Humberside as well. After a year or so, CCCS Yorkshire started to produce its own Northern England Bulletin, so The Circular Review reverted back to East Midlands once again.
By 1995, the editorial team became semi-autonomous of CCCS and dropped any reference to the main organisational body. Adopting the strap line Investigating the Crop Circle Phenomenon, editorship was handed over to Nick Nicholson, the magazine became truly independent and articles became more broadly-focussed. Finally, by 2000, it was being produced “in association and co-operation with the best web site reporting on the phenomenon on the internet” i.e. Crop Circle Connector:
